
A Short Story:
Vyankat Rao a young professional placed in one of the prestigious MNC which is famous for their Values, employee norms and good work culture. vyankat and his family was very happy for this oppertunity.
Vyankat has been appointed as business development manager, the first day of orientation made the dream come true, all the colleagues and seniors were very friendly and cooperative, even CEO takes lunch with all the employee. mates help him for small small issues, like writing mails, customers calls, pitching to the customer, and product information. it was a good start up.
days past , months past, vyankat learned a lot of things in this organisation now his mails become short with FYI, and ASAP, and conversation become effective and long.
As the month past, CEO and other seniors started pressurising for the sales figure, but this time he feel like no one is helping him, and creating hurdles by back bucking and criticising, vyankat took this positively and started working for its goal by innovative techniques, and to some extend he succeeded to grab the bottom line, as the next Quarter start he realise that the targets are hiked by 100% and support decreased, now daily he receive call from CEO about sale status, he feel that his boss is rude and abuse him a lot. now his innovation and courage has no place in organisation, only requirement is business development, hook or by crook.
Days passes, now only thing left in his life was SALES, TARGETS, and GOAL SHEETS. he was loosing charm in his personal life, now he don't speaks much, and moving away from his social life.
He council with few colleagues , they suggested to get the sales, rest do not put brain in intangible issues. all matters is the mathematics on papers. another suggestion was to buy other's sale fig. and customer into his account by paying some money to the colleague. but that was not acceptable by vyankat.
As vyankat appose this culture ,all started ignoring him, even boss pressurising to put the papers..... with in 7 months he left the company and joined a call center where he is happy with American process with no commitment of norms and values. just 9 hrs job...
Do we lost an innovative mind by the dirty business?
We always get calls from credit cards, mobile connections, and loan, where executives gives false commitment to gather sales fig. but ultimately customer suffer. do you think that seniors doesn't know all about this?
